Sony Pocketstation (SCPH-4000)

The Pocketstation is a Japanese exclusive product. It functions as a standard 15 block memory card but also totes a screen that users can play mini-games with. These mini-games were downloaded from the corresponding main Playstation disc. There were a plethora of games released in Japan supported the Pocketstation and there were a number that were specifically made for them such as Pocket Muu Muu. There were a few different styles of Pocketstation like the Card Captor Sakura game and pink Pocketstation. Although the Pocketstation never saw a US release, there were a small handful of games that did support it like Final Fantasy VIII.

Blaze Technology's MPXchanger that allowed you to download and upload game saves from your Playstation and Nintendo 64 memory cards and your Gameboy games via your PC and the Internet. You can also use it to program and upload Pocketstation games. There was also an adapter that allowed you to use Dreamcast VMU's. For the price you paid, you got simple instructions, a drivers disc, the input unit (parallel cable) and AC adapter. List price $19.99. Windows ME & 98.
